Arigatō <Thank you.>

I am grateful for being born into this life.
Thank you, Mom! Thank you, Dad!

Itadakimasu <Thank you for this food.>

Meat, fish, vegetables-all forms of life.
Let's eat each meal with gratitude and mindfulness.

Uso < Lies>

Lies will always grow bigger and bigger.

Egao <Smiles>

When I smile, everyone smiles.

Omoiyari <Kindness>

Let's try to be aware of the feelings of others.

Kansha <Gratitude>

Let's express gratitude to everyone for we can't do anything by ourselves. 

Kiritsu <Discipline>

Let's always play nice and abide by the rules.

Kuyō < Honoring>

When we express our gratitude to our ancestors, our thoughts will reach them.

Kenkyo <Humility>

Like the stalks of rice, which bow deeper the more they ripen,
we should do our best to remain modest.

Konnichiwa <Hello>

Everyone smiles when we greet each other happily.

Sange <Repentance>

Have a sincere mind and apologize when you realize your own faults or have done something wrong.

Shitsuke  <Discipline>

It's important to learn good manners and behavior.

Sunao <Thoughtfulness>

I value your words and feelings with great care.

Sesshō <Taking life>

All life is important. Let's be thoughtful of even the smallest forms of life.

Sonkei  <Respect>

We should respect those who aspire and work hard for their dreams.

Taisetsu  <Important>

The most important thing is life.

Chie <Knowledge>

If you add more drawers to your heart and mind, they will always be helpful.

Tsumi  <Wrongdoings>

Without realizing it, our actions, words, and thoughts can sometimes end up hurting someone.

Tekitō <Adequate>

There is sure to be a perfect fit that is just right for you.

Tomodachi  <Friends>

In times of happiness or sadness, your friends are always close by.

Nakayoku < Harmony>

Getting along is important. We can do it, if we work together.

Nintai <Patience>

No matter how hard or how long it takes,
Always believe that flowers will always blossom one day.

Nusumi  <Stealing> 

Don't take other people's things.
Don't deceive people's hearts.

Netami  <Jealousy>

Feeling jealous of others only makes you look bad.

Nozomu <Wish>

Do your best at everything. Those with goals are always beautiful.

Hansei  < Self reflection>

We all have things we should to reflect upon.

Hitasura < Single heartedly>

We are truly alive when we focus completely on what we are doing.

Fuhei fuman <Dissatisfaction>

Being discontent can be full of thorns and will only get bigger over time.

Heiwa < Peace>

Our only wish is for you to find happiness.

Hodo hodo ni <Moderation>

Let's find a balance without leaning too far either way.

Magokoro < Sincerity>

Our hearts are filled with warmth.

Migaku <Brighten>

That which is hidden within us will surely shine if we cultivate it.

Muchi <Ignorance>

Often we think we know more than we do.

Mendō <Looking after>

Let's take care to protect those who are most important to us.

Mottainai < Wastefulness>

Don't waste food. Let's be mindful of all we are given.

Yakusoku <Promises>

Whether big or small, let's keep our promises.

Yūki <Courage>

Take heart! Courage is a strength that everyone has. 

Yoku < Greed>

Has your greed gotten out of hand?

Raku < Happiness>

Laughing together makes everyone happy.

Rikai < Understanding>

It's important to understand things one by one.

Rusuban <Taking care>

Having trust and patience is important.

Renshū< Practice>

Never give up. Always challenge yourself. You are sure to improve.

Each of us has an important role to play in society.

Wakeau <Sharing>

When we share, we find that there is always enough for everyone.

Kotoba o taisetsu ni <Use words carefully>

Each word has a life of its own.

A - Un <the beginning to the end >

"A" is the beginning of the Japanese alphabet and "un" is the end. A to un embodies all meaning and life.
